Entry 2 Getting an Answer
Sometimes we do not get the things we requested in prayer. We may have prayed for a loved one’s healing, and they died; or prayed that God would bless a marriage and they end up divorced. The bible clearly states that if we say to this mountain be thou removed and cast into the sea without doubting it shall be done. God said ask and it shall be given, seek and you will find, knock and the door shall be open unto us. And that if we delight ourselves in God, He said He would give us the desires of our hearts. So why then do we not always get what we asked for in prayer? The bible suggests that perhaps we pray amiss. We may be praying with doubt and not faith. We may be praying selfishly or from our own personal biases, and not in the will of God. We may be praying as a reaction to a bad situation, making deals with God that we have no intentions of keeping. God hears and answers all the prayers of His people. He is not Santa Claus or an endless atm machine waiting to do whatever we want whenever we want it. God desires to bless us however, and give us the desires of our hearts when we delight ourselves in Him. As our Heavenly Father, He already knows what we need before we ask for it. He knows the good plans He has for us, and wants to accomplish He will in our lives. If we pray in the spirit in the will of God using the Word of God, we will always get what we ask for. For God is able, willing, and ready to do exceeding abundantly above all that we could ever ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
