Praying in the Spirit Using the Word of God for Week #45

Entry 45 Praying to Maintain our Understanding, Stand, and Stance

As believers, we are in constant war with the enemy of our souls. The thief comes to steal our joy, kill our faith, and destroy our peace. But we are more than conquerors because we are fighting a defeated foe. Jesus alright won the victory for us; we just have to walk daily into it. Our understanding of God as believers is that He is a caring Heavenly Father that loves us unconditionally, and who sacrificed Himself to redeem us back to Him. Satan would like us to believe the lies that God is always mad at us, He is ready to strike us down when we fail, and that we have to constantly work to earning His favor. Not only will Satan attack our understanding of God, but he will try to keep us from standing on God’s word. God’s word declares that we are saved, healed, blessed, and delivered. It states that we are the righteousness of God, justified by grace through faith. God’s word says that the power of life and death is in our tongue, and whatever we lose or bind on earth will be lose and bound in heaven. Satan would have us believe the lies that God’s word is not true, that we cannot stand on God’s promises, and that the word of God is not relevant to or active in our lives today. He will also attack our stance and position of authority that Jesus died to place us in. Jesus snatched from Satan the keys of death, hell and the grave that Adam handed over to him in the garden of Eden. And He put us back into the position of fellowship with God as His sons.  As believers, our spiritual stance is sealed in heaven by the blood of Jesus Christ. Our misbehavior or even unbelief will not change that position. God will always guide His children back to where we are supposed to be. So we must continually pray to maintain our understanding of God’s goodness our stand on His holy word, and our stance in the position of power of authority He placed us in as His beloved sons.
