Praying in the Spirit Using the Word of God for Week #38

Entry #038  Praying to be Driven by the Anointing

The bible speaks a lot about the anointing of the Holy Spirit and being anointed of God. It talks about the anointing of oil, anointing the sick, being anointed with the oil of gladness. The bible makes it clear that Jesus is the Anointed One, and all believers are His anointed.  We are chosen by God, sealed and appointed for service. And no one is to touch God’s anointed; even the least of His little ones God will defend. God anoints each of us to build His kingdom in a very special, specific way. He puts the desire in our hearts and empowers us to accomplish what He set out for us to do. But there are many things that can propel us to reach our destiny. We can be driven by a desire to serve humanity and inadvertedly achieve greatness. We can be driven by our instincts that may not be properly guided or focused.  We can be driven by our personal desire to attain wealth, fame and glory. Or we can be driven by our desire to be validated and recognized by man. But God can create in us a clean and pure heart that is driven to serve and please Him. We serve Him by serving His people; we please Him with our faith. God can inspire us at different stages and phases of lives to do great things for His kingdom. He anoints us to be great parents, singers, teachers, singles and spouses. Everything we do is unto the Lord, and He anoints us to be great, effective servants driven by the guidance of His Holy Spirit.
