Praying in the Spirit Using the Word of God Week#5

Entry 05 Praying to be Healthy, Wealthy and Wise

We may have heard the saying, “early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”. Upon exercising personal disciple, positive thinking, and hard work, we can all achieve a degree of success. We all know getting enough rest contributes to good health, and getting up early can contribute to our productivity. But true health, wealth and wisdom only comes from the Lord. Even the success we achieve on our own is obtained with the strength and grace of God. When we achieve these things with our own self effort, there is always the chance for us to lose them, or for them to be taken away from us by the enemy. When we rely on God to give them to us, we know we will have them indeed, in His time, for His plan, and for His purpose. Satan attacks our health, wealth and wisdom on a spiritual level because he knows they are spiritual gifts. But we can daily claim them with the word of God and through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our jobs are a blessing, but they are not designed to make us rich. They are designed to keep us working and make our bosses rich. Wealth comes from investments. When we give God back our tithes, give our offerings as an investment to church, charities and/or others, and save ten percent as an investment into ourselves, we can comfortable live within our means on the seventy percent. When we invest in the work of the kingdom of God, we insure sustained provision, for God always sponsors His own plan. So praying to God for health, wealth and wisdom is acknowledging that He is the giver of all good gifts, and understanding that we are nothing without Him. God desires for us to prosper and be in good health, even as our souls prospers. When we have demonstrated through our faith in God that we can be trusted to give God all the glory, honor, and praises for whatever He has given us, then the rivers of blessings will began to flow in our lives. The bible instructs us to ask for wisdom if we desire it. Having wisdom will not determine whether or not we make it to heaven, our belief in Jesus Christ as Lord, Savior and Redeemer will. Wisdom will however, determine the level of sustained success we have in life on this earth, and our effectiveness in the kingdom of heaven. So as we begin a new year, instead of making a bunch of resolutions for what we plan do in the coming months, knowing that we will not accomplish most of them anyway, let us instead resolve to ask God to give us health, wealth and wisdom by His grace and peace. If we do this, we are guaranteed results, because the Giver of good gifts will withhold no good thing from us.
